Release Channels & Versioning
Explanation of release channels, version tags, artifacts, and changelogs.
AniStream publishes separate releases for its standalone app, client app, and server container images so each component can update independently.
Release Channels Matrix

|---|---|---|
| Standalone | v${version}-standalone | Windows (.exe, .msi), Linux (.deb, .rpm, .AppImage), macOS (.dmg) |

Semantic Versioning
All AniStream components follow Semantic Versioning (MAJOR.MINOR.PATCH):
- Major Version (
X.0.0): Breaking architectural changes or substantial user interface overhauls. - Minor Version (
1.X.0): New streaming providers, enhanced playback controls, or new user management features. - Patch Version (
1.0.X): Bug fixes, stream scraper adjustments, security updates, and translation improvements.
Changelogs
When a new version is released:
- Standalone and Client apps display the newest changelog directly in the app.
- Full release notes and release binaries are published on the AniStream GitHub Releases page.
